Running a program

Running a program

Programs, when run, will send all their output to the Display Window. This window is, by default, visible on BasinC start-up, but if it is not then you can bring it up by using the View…Display Window…Visible menu item. When a program or Direct Command is executed, the display window will pop to the front, and show any output that the program creates. This screen is analogous to the original Television display utilised by the real Sinclair Spectrum. The PC keyboard operates in a similar manner to the Editor window - and thanks to more ROM modifications, any INPUT statements will be able to use a much more friendly method of entering data into the program.

All programs and direct commands will return to the editor with an error message, even if it is just to say that no errors have occurred. You can get further help with error messages - the Error window and Error Help window provide complete information about BASIC errors
